Over the years, with your help, the Cobalt Appeal has been able to support the NHS with £-millions worth of equipment and services to enhance the lives of cancer patients. Our work continues . . . . Please keep up your wonderful efforts - every single penny makes a difference.

We have designed this website around six main topics to provide help and advice for you.

Cobalt Home & Fundraising provide information on our history, how your money has been spent, news on upcoming events and ways you can get involved and help the charity to continue to benefit patients, friends and relatives.

Cancer Prevention has pages on all the main cancers, and advice on Awareness and Prevention. We have also placed our factsheets on these pages for additional information. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more advice.

PET-CT & CT gives information on this new state-of-the-art scanner which will be vital in the future fight against cancer and certain neurological conditions.

MRI is split into two sections. The patient pages give advice on having a scan, what it is like, how it works and how it can help. The health professional pages explain more about our service and equipment, how we work and future developments. Both sections show examples of MRI images.

We hope you will find our site useful.

Grateful thanks to all the people who have helped with what we hope you will consider to be an informative and helpful site. In particular to Nicola Sykes and Karen Hackling-Searle from the Cobalt Unit and Richard Hopkins and William Chubb from UK Medical Professionals who have put so much effort and personal time into developing our website. And many thanks to Philips, The Citizen, The Echo, The Stroud and Journal for kindly allowing us the use of their photos.
