Every year, more than 500 women in Gloucestershire are diagnosed with breast cancer.
The disease will affect one woman in nine at some point in her lifetime - and cases are on the increase.
But there is hope for the future: Treatment for breast cancer has seen great improvements in recent years, with more patients living longer. Much of this success is due to earlier diagnosis and improved screening.
We want to give patients the best possible chance of surviving breast cancer. That's why we're joining forces with the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust to open the Cobalt Breast Clinic.
And we need YOUR support to raise £1m towards this ambitious project. You can help wives, mothers, sisters, daughters, nieces and friends - by making a donation today to our appeal.
'Breast screening saved my life. Please support the new clinic, which will help many more women to enjoy life after cancer.

About the Clinic
The new clinic is a joint venture between the Cobalt Appeal Fund and the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust.
It aims to be a centre of excellence for breast screening, diagnosis and care of breast cancer patients - bringing these services together under one roof at Thirlestaine Court, Cheltenham. Demand for services is increasing; more space is needed than is currently available at Linton House and Cheltenham General Hospital. Much of the current diagnostic imaging equipment needs updating.
What will it provide?
- An enlarged and improved breast screening service
- Services for patients with a family history of breast cancer
- Outpatient services for follow-up appointments
- Clinics for benign breast disease
How will patients benefit?
Doctors will be able to:
- Assess cases more rapidly and make faster diagnosis
- Share information and expertise quickly
- Make more accurate diagnosis with state-of-the-art equipment
- See more patients who need urgent appointments
