Why Have a Scan With Us?

We have been scanning patients since 1992 with our MRI imaging service. We are accredited to ISO9001:2000 for the quality of service that we offer to our patients.

We believe we were the first UK independent provider to bring MRI examination charges below £200 at a time when the average cost for a private scan was around £600, thus we have helped drive down MRI charges for patients. Now our charges of £218 for a one-part scan and £366 for a two part scan, on the most advanced equipment, are still amongst the lowest in the country.

All our scanners are of the highest specification and are regularly updated to keep up with technical advancement. Our 1.0 Tesla Open MRI is the first in the UK, our 3.0 Tesla MRI is one of a very few number of high field machines providing a full-time clinical service in the UK. Our 1.5 Tesla Intera & Achieva scanners are fully equipped to ensure we can take the best pictures for any appropriate examination.

All our experienced MRI Radiographers undertake documented CPD (Continuous Professional Development), attending regular courses, professional meetings and symposiums to keep up to date with scanning advances and techniques. Our disease specific & specialist Consultant Radiologists are all UK NHS based and work closely with our Radiographers, your scan is carried out under their directions.

After the scan you will be able to leave with your scan pictures, in a heavy duty envelope, so that these are immediately available to your referrer when you return to them for your results. This ensures there are no delays to your follow-up treatment plan through loss or postage delays. We will then forward a detailed report from a specialist disease specific Consultant Radiologist to your referrer.

If you or your referrer requests we can also provide your images on a CD with a dicom viewer installed, to look at and manipulate all the images. This requires ActiveX during playback, so the PC which you view the images on must be connected to the internet at the time of loading. This additional service is available for an extra £22 at the time of your scan, or plus postage afterwards.
