CT Scanning
 |
|
 |
| |
 |
Computerised Tomography
(CT or CAT) scanning has been used since the 1970’s.
A computer controls the x-ray machine which takes
three dimensional images through the body. These
images are processed by the computer and reconstructed
to demonstrate soft tissue, blood vessels and bone.
CT scanners are an integral part of diagnostics
within hospitals and can be performed on virtually
any patients. There are no contra-indications to
CT scanning although the use of contrast will depend
on certain conditions. |

Our
new Philips Brilliance CT will allow us to provide
you with a fast and probably the quietest experience
on a CT scanner with exceptional comfort. Able to
work independently of our PET scanner our machine
will offer valuable diagnostic advantages, including
the evaluation of heart disease
in seconds, stroke management with blood flow evaluation,
virtual (non-invasive) colonoscopy, lung imaging
with no breathhold required, head to toe trauma
imaging and paediatric imaging with the lowest x-ray
dose without compromising the quality of the images.
With high resolution, large field of view, low dose
and isotropic thin slices our CT machine will provide
the highest of image quality, quickly, as standard.
